This Instant Pot Sweet Chili is sure to hit the spot and warm you up without the spice. Perfect for babies and toddlers to enjoy.
Hello everyone, here is another Instant Pot recipe that will make its way to your monthly meal routines. Perfect to serve the whole family, even the baby if your following the baby-led weaning feeding method.
If you don’t already know, I love my Instant Pot Max. It’s my most used appliance in the house besides the icebox, and it saves me time with getting dinner on the table.
With making Chili, you typically need about two hours to really get the flavor and enjoy it. But when you’re using the Instant Pot, it speeds up the process and delivers the flavor in no time.
Normally I would make some spicy chili but in this case, I’m giving it to my toddler and 8 month old who will be using her hands to eat. So I didn’t want the spice. Instead I went for a more sweet and savory flavor.
Ingredients needed to make this recipe:
- Ground meat
- Bush’s Original Baked Beans
- Tomato sauce
- Rotel Tomatoes
- Water
- Beef bouillon cubes
- Minced garlic
- Half Chopped onion
- Salt and pepper
- Chili powder
- Cumin powder
- Garlic salt
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
For this recipe I pretty much just dumped everything in the Instant Pot and let it do its magic.
First start of with placing your ground meat in the pot, followed by the water, beef cubes, and onion.
Add in all your seasoning on top. No need to mix the seasoning in.
Alternative for cooking your ground meat.
If you prefer to cook your ground meat first, just use the sauté mode and brown your meat along with the onion, garlic, and seasoning. Then drain the grease, add your water, and scrap up any brown bits stuck to the bottom. Then follow the rest of the instructions.
Layer in your Bush’s beans and Rotel Tomatos.
Keep your tomato sauce for last. Dump both cans on top and close your lid. Make sure it’s in the close position.
Instant Pot cook settings.
Press the Pressure cook setting, set the time to eighteen minutes, on high pressure, with a semi quick release. Press start and wait.
If you already browned your meat, set the time to 8 minutes.
Also, if you don’t have the Max, allow the chili to do a natural release for 5 minutes then quick release the rest.
Instant Pot Sweet Chili is now ready to be served and enjoyed.
I love to pair my Chili with some fritos and cheese. I just can’t eat it any other way.
The recipe is also a great baby-led weaning meal to give to your new little food eaters. Mine just gobbled it right up.
What do you like to eat with your Chili?
