Sloppy Joe Casserole for an easy weeknight dish.

Sloppy Joe Casserole

Sloppy Joe Casserole is one of our favorite dinners to have. With just a few ingredients you can make your own Sloppy Joe mix.

All of the ingredients to make Sloppy Joes are found commonly in your fridge. You’ll need the following ingredients

  • Ground meat
  • Ketchup
  • Bar-B-Que Sauce
  • Salsa
  • Ground Mustard
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Minced Garlic
  • Chopped Onion
  • Worcherstire Sauce
  • Oregano
  • Parsley

If you don’t have Ground Mustard its ok. I’ve made Sloppy Joes with alot of different ingredients and leaving this out isn’t going to ruin the dish. It just gives it that little extra flavor.

This is a dish made in the oven but I did use my Instant Pot Max for this recipe. I decided at the last minute I wanted to make this dish so I didn’t have my meat thawed out.

Instant Pot Max to the rescue.

I did however have already cooked ground beef so all I had to do was defrost it. I place my frozen meat in the Instant Pot with one cup of water and set it to two minutes on high pressure with a quick release.

Please note that placing anything frozen into the Instant Pot adds a little extra time to reach desired temperature.

And just like magic, you now have cooked ground meat ready to go.

Thawed ground meat

Now on to making our Sloppy Joe Casserole.

Preheat your oven to 350⁰. Scoop out your ground meat and place into a 9×9 baking dish.

Next we are going to add all of the seasoning and sauces. Stir it all together.

Mixing Sloppy Joe casserole ingredients

Grab your frozen tater tots and place ontop. Place your casserole in the oven for twenty minutes. We are initially cooking the tots on top.

After the twenty minutes is up, take your casserole out and sprinkle your cheese on top. Stick it back inside the oven just long enough to melt the cheese.

Sloppy Joe Casserole ready to serve

Last thing left to do is serve and enjoy this new family favorite. Sometimes if we have them, I’ll cook up some Cresent Rolls to have along with it. Besides that, this dish can be enjoyed all by itself.
