Step 1- Print and Cut your Mini Pinata PDF Template
I do recommend printing this chalkboard template onto cardstock paper to help hold its shape. Once we get our Chalkboard template printed along with the detail accents, it is time to cut them out.
Now this time around I didn’t add any dash marks to the accent page. So you just need to cut along the edges of each shape.

Before we start gluing, we need to add some crease lines to the dash marks on each side panel.
So grab your tweezers if you don’t have a score pen and use the back side of them. You want t apply pressure over all the dash lines you see on the panels. This will help you fold the side tabs over with ease.

Now it’s time to cut your holes out of the door and back panel. This template has an option for you to hang the pinata up so if you want it hanging, go ahead and cut the holes out. It’s best if you use an exact knife to help.
Step 2 : Glue and Assemble
Now comes the fun part, putting it together. I recommend using the Aleena’s quick dry tacky glue. It’s at a good price and drys quickly.
When you print this template out, you will notice numbers and a D marked on the back panel and matching side panels. So no need to guess where things go, just match them up. You will need to apply glue to the back side of the side panel tab. (Part that does not have the number showing.) Line the panel edges up and press down to adhere them together. Their is also a side tab, this is to connect the side panels together. Once you have everything glue in place, you should have something that looks like this. You will notice only the D part of the door panel is glued down. Very important.

When you have the above image in front of you, it’s time to add the string if you want to hang this pinata up later. It’s best to do it at this part, so you can easily grab the string through the holes and tie it off.
Now it’s time to add the top panel. Just like before, add glue to the top tabs, and carefully line the edges up. It’s OK if you are a little off because we are going to be covering it up with Crepe paper in the next step.
Step 3: Adding The Fringe and Details

To add fringe, first we need to cut our crepe paper. I like to take a bit, fold it over a few times, then make a lot of cuts on both sides. Then cut it in half so I have two strips of fringes to work with.
For this shape you have two options on adding the fringe. First way is to add the fringe to the front and back, leaving the sides empty. Then add the fringe on the sides separately going around. I like this option best and it takes the least amount of time.
Your next option is to start at the bottom and make a continuing wrap until you reach the top, then cut the door free from the fringe.
Either way you pick, you’ll end up with a covered pinata.
Next step is to add the detail accents, which are found in the Magical Crafting Library for free. I made a chalkboard background and options to choose the grade level. All you need is to cut it out and add the grade level to the chalkboard. Adding double sided foam tape gives it that extra layer look but you could just glue it too.
