Hello Magical Crafters, we are back with the next design in the Kpop Hunter Demon mini pinata series. The Huntrix Lightstick is what we will be making today. You can keep it naked without the fringe and it still looks amazing to have for birthdays or just to have while watching the movie. Plus you can put goodies inside so it doubles as a very unique gift box.

Supplies we will need to craft this Huntrix Lightstick Mini piñata are…

  • Cricut machine
  • Light grip cutting mat
  • Cardstock (65lb works )
  • Crepe Paper
  • Quick dry glue
  • Score pen
  • Writing pen
  • Double sided tape
  • SVG Huntrix Lightstick file
  • SVG Huntrix Deatils

Head over to our Etsy Shop and download the Huntrix Lightstick Mini Piñata SVG file.

And if you want to free Huntrix detail elements,  visit the Magical Crafting Library and grab them in the detail section.

After we have everything downloaded it’s time to grab our supplies and open up Cricut Design Space.

Once you have Crciut Design Space open, head down the light side of your screen and click on Upload. Select the Huntrix Lightstick SVG file and the free  elements or drag and drop the files. Give the file a name and select, save as cut file.

Now you should see the file in front of you on the screen. Click on Ungroup at the right side menu above the layers section. Move over to the panels and select the inside section. It should show all the single lines have been selected in the layers section. Head up to the middle menu and select on operation. Now select the score option. The lines should change into dash lines. Click on ungroup.

Next select the numbers and click on operation again but this time select the pen tool. This way when we go to cut it out, it will draw all the numbers out for us making an easy way of putting together this mini piñata. Finally click on ungroup. The side panels should also be ungroup before moving on.

In order for everything to stay together as you see on the screen, we will need to attach everything together.  Head over to one of the side panels and drag your Selecting box over the side panel, dash score lines, and number. Then head over to the right side menu and select the attach option. Also shown as a paperclip. Repeat this for the other side panels and also the base panel with only numbers.

Before we hit that make it button, let’s save our work. Hit save and give it a name. If you want to resize it, now is the time. Select the Select all option, and make sure the lock icon is locked. If it’s unlock, the proportions will become off. Grab the bottom arrow and drag it to your desire size.

Now let’s hit that Make it button.

You will be taken to preview screen. Double check the size paper you are using and if you can move anything over to another page, go ahead and do that too because Cricut doesn’t use up all the available space accurately.

You will be following each prompt during cutting, first it will score the panels, then ask you to swap out the score pen for the writing pen. Click continue. Once it’s done flip or bend your mat, and carefully take the items off without pulling it off the mat. If you keep your mat straight and pull it, it will give you curling items instead. And nobody wants that. Repeat this until everything is done.

It’s time to glue the side panels to the base panel. I like to organize all my panels in the order they need to go. And since we had the machine score the panels, all we need to do is fold on each crease line.

Once you’ve folded everything, grab your glue and apply a few drops of glue to the side tab, and then attach it to the base where it’s matching number is. Repeat for the other side panels and make sure to add glue to the attaching tab as well.

Making sure you leave your door pushed out. Add glue to the top tabs, then apply the top panel. It’s best to start at the bottom and make its secure little by little before moving on.

Now you should have a completed Lightstick. If you used matching color as the base, you could stop here. Add the detail elements and you are finished with your Huntrix Lightstick.

It does look marvelous at this point. And you could add your goodies inside. But if you wanna add fringe to give it more of those mini pinata vibes, we must continue.

Grab your crepe paper and fold it over itself a few times. Make some cuts on side, then turn it and repeat. Next cut down the middle and now you have two strips of Fringes to work with. I do show how to do this in the video tutorial if you’d like to watch and craft alongside me.

Next up, always starting at the bottom, add glue then apply your fringe. Now for this shape, I did find once you got up to the top part where it has different curves, it’s best just to do the front and back first. Then apply the fringes on the sides.

Once everything is covered with fringe, apply your detail elements to the front if you wish to use them. They are optional and are in the library for free use. I think you could also roll  the crepe paper into like a rope, and position like the details.

Congratulations crafter, you just made your own Huntrix Lightstick Mini Piñata with your Cricut. Let me know in the comments which option you choose to go with. I will always love adding the fringe but for these lightsticks, I think the naked ones are cute too.

Now you are probably wondering what to even put inside it. I have a few options you could use.

  • Candy, of course
  • Stickers
  • Temporary tattoos
  • Glow sticks
  • Nail polish
  • Jewelry
  • Hair bows
  • Mini bubbles
  • Confetti
