Craft up this printable Huntrix Lightstick mini piñata with me.

Hello Magical Crafters,  today we are making the Huntrix Lightstick mini piñata using a printable template. If you haven’t seen the movie, KPOP Demon Hunters,  its on Netflix and it’s a pretty good show to watch. With Kpop comes Lightsticks, so why not recreate the lightstick in the show as a party item for the future birthdays we will be having in the theme.

All you need to get started are the following supplies:

  • Printer
  • Cardstock (65lb works good)
  • Knife tool
  • Scissors
  • Score pen or tweezers
  • Glue
  • Ribbon
  • Crepe paper
  • PDF Huntrix Lightstick file
  • PDF details file

Head on over to our Etsy Shop and grab the Printable Huntrix Lightstick file.

And if you wanna have the same details shown, head over to our Magical Crafting Library and grab the free detail elements. Totally optional though.

Once you have all the necessary files, we now just need to print them out. Trade out your regular limpy paper for the thicker cardstock. You can print the template in black and white. But don’t forget to change the setting to color for printing the details out.

Cutting and Scoring the panels

Grab your scissors and cut out the panels on the outside. Plus the detail elements.

Next grab your score pen or use the back side of your tweezers and apply pressure while tracing along the dash lines on all the side panels.

Fold over all the small tabs. Cut out the holes in the door section.

Assembling our Huntrix Lightstick

Rearrange all the side panels in order with the base. Starting with number 1, add a few drops of glue to the side tab with the matching number on it, then line up the edges onto the base panel. Hold a few seconds for the glue to dry. It’s best to use quick dry glue for this part.

Grab your next panel with the number 2 on it, repeat the steps and then add glue to the connector tab to connect panel 1 with panel 2.

Repeat this process until everything is glued to the base panel. The only part of the door to be glued is the back piece to connect with panel 5.

Once all the side panels are connected to the base and each other, it’s time to add the top panel. All you need to do now is add glue to all the top tabs, then starting at the bottom, apply the top panel and line up the edges. Slowly work around the whole shape, making sure to keep your door open so you don’t glue it shut.

Adding Fringe to our mini piñata

Next step is adding fringe to our mini piñata lightstick. The color in the movie is a purple, so purple crepe paper it is. For a better visual explanation of cutting this into fringes check out the video below.

Start with about 6 inches of crepe paper, fold it over itself a few times, then grab your scissors and make some cuts along one side. Flip it around and cut on the other side. Now cut down the middle creating two strips of Fringes.  Did you follow me ok?

Always starting at the bottom of the lightstick, apply glue around the bottom, then add the fringe strip. Cut where it meets the beginning,  then repeat until you get up to the top part.

Since it’s an odd shape here, I found that doing the front and back side first was easier. Then apply the fringe on both sides.

Add your ribbon to the holes in the door for easy access to the goodies later.

Finishing our Printable Huntrix Lightstick

If you decided to grab the free detail elements from the Magical Crafting Library go ahead and apply them to the front side of your mini piñata. If you made your own, I’d love to see it.

Congrats crafter, you just made your own Printable Huntrix Lightstick mini piñata all by yourself. Give yourself a round of applause or happy dance.
