Easy and Simple Cinnamon French Toast Breakfast

Cinnamon French Toast

Are you looking for an easy Cinnamon French Toast recipe to make? Well, I have just the one you’re looking for.

I remember when I was little my grandma making Cinnamon French Toast for us all the time. It was always delicious and satisfied our sweet tooth.

So every time I whip myself up some Cinnamon French Toast for breakfast, I always remember her in the kitchen making the whole house smell like sweet cinnamon as she cooks. It was definitely a smell that woke the house up.

This Cinnamon French Toast recipe doesn’t call for a lot of ingredients. It’s pretty basic but has amazing flavor.

You’ll need:

  • Day old stale bread
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1 Tablespoon of Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of salt
Ingredients

This will make about 5-6 slices of Cinnamon French Toast.

So depending on how hungry y’all are for something sweet, go ahead and double the ingredients. I’m typically the only one who likes something sweet for breakfast in my household.

Crack your eggs, add the milk, salt, and cinnamon together in a shallow bowl. Whip your mixture until its smooth.

Ingredients combined into shallow bowl.

Next add your slice of bread into the cinnamon mixture. Push it down into the mixture then flip it over and push down again. You want to make sure the bread has absorb the mixture on both sides.

Mixing toast with mixture.

Take your bread out of the mixture and place in your oiled frying pan. Let it cook about 2 minutes on medium high heat. Then flip it over for another 2 minutes. Or until browned. We cook on cast iron skillets so the timing may be different from what you are using.

Cooking French toast

Remove your French Toast from the skillet and onto a plate. Repeat with the rest of your bread. I can usually get about 5 maybe 6 slices of Cinnamon French Toast with this recipe.

Sometimes if we have it, I sprinkle some powdered sugar and add slices of strawberries on top. Makes for an even sweeter breakfast.

This is also a great breakfast recipe to double up and make in bulk for a quick breakfast in the future.

Just follow these instructions for cooking, then lay each piece out onto a baking pan and place in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Take your French toast out of the freezer and transfer them to a freezer bag for later.

Then when you want to have some Cinnamon French Toast one morning, just pop your slices into the toaster to warm them up and give them that crispy texture again.

This recipe also doubles as a great breakfast option for your little new eater. For baby led weaning, cut the French Toast up to the recommended size according to there age. Then serve.

If you want to stay away from syrup right now, I also take a few frozen blueberries or strawberries and stick them in a bowl, and heat in the microwave. Then use the syrup from the fruit as the topping.

I hope you try this simple Cinnamon French Toast recipe and enjoy it as much as I do.

Don’t forget to share and pin it for later.

Yum
